Natura's Staff of Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists Grows With Addition of Dr. Sally Perea
San Jose, CA (November 11, 2008) – Natura Pet Products, the company committed to producing the world's healthiest pet food, has hired well-known board certified veterinary nutritionist, Dr. Sally Perea. Dr. Perea will serve as Natura's Senior Nutritionist working directly with Dr. Sean Delaney, also a board certified veterinary nutritionist and Natura’s Senior Executive Vice President.

Dr. Perea was previously a faculty member at the University of California, Davis (UCD) and a principal consultant at Davis Veterinary Medical (DVM) Consulting, a company she joined in 2006 that also developed the widely acclaimed Balance IT® software and supplements for making homemade pet food. At DVM Consulting, Dr. Perea played a key role in the research and development behind a variety of successful new products and technical resources for the pet food industry. She is also a frequent national speaker and widely published author on veterinary nutrition.

Dr. Perea is the recipient of a bachelor's degree in animal science, a master's degree in nutrition and a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from UCD. After finishing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery with Veterinary Centers of America in Illinois, Dr. Perea completed a full-time clinical nutrition residency at UCD. Following her residency, she was an associate veterinarian and assistant clinical professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at UCD for two years. Dr. Perea attained small animal Diplomate status with the ACVN in 2006, and is presently only one of approximately 40 such designees in the world.
